Seltzer Fontaine Beckwith is one of California’s oldest and most prominent search firms. The firm handles permanent placement of attorneys only. In addition to placing individual associates and partners, we facilitate law firm mergers, acquisitions of practice groups, and the establishment of new offices. We also place in-house counsel with corporations and non-profit organizations. We conduct both retained and contingency searches throughout California and as well as other major financial centers nationally and internationally. Four of our six recruiters are former practicing attorneys, and four of the six have 20+ years of experience in the legal search field. Amber Handman was the attorney recruitment manager at a leading DC law firm for five years. All are active in professional and bar associations and have published and spoken on topics related to career development, the legal marketplace, and diversity issues. Valerie Fontaine is the author of “The Right Moves: Job Search and Career Development Strategies for Lawyers,” published by NALP in 2006. The firm is a long-standing and active member of NALSC: Randy Beckwith is a past president and Madeleine Seltzer is currently a member of the board and was recognized as one of "Lawdragon's 100 Legal Consultants You Need To Know."
