The Social Media/Website Committee recently changed its name to the Online Presence Committee, to better reflect its mission to enhance NALSC’s presence online. Its purpose is to broaden and be more strategic about how it helps NALSC accomplish one of its key stated goals: to provide education and information on trends and issues in the marketplace.
As part of this change, the Committee is taking over the oversight of our very popular monthly web programming: NALSC Presents, Office Hours, and Recruiting Roundtables. Previously, planning and presenting these programs had been within the purview of the Strategic Planning Committee, with excellent results. This realignment of duties will allow that Committee to concentrate its efforts on the very important work of strategic planning for our organization. (The schedule of upcoming online programs is reported elsewhere in this newsletter in the Strategic Planning Committee article.)
The Online Presence Committee met in January, June, and November 2025 and took the following actions:
- Helped coordinate exciting new episodes of the Recruiter Stories Podcast, which are scheduled for release on an approximately monthly basis, through April 2026. Our genial host, Jordan Abshire, continues to do a super job recruiting an array of interesting guests to interview for this series.
- Continued to welcome and encourage greater efforts by the NALSC Community, particularly by Board Members, to comment, like, and reshare NALSC and our Executive Director Stephanie Ankus’ LinkedIn posts, or otherwise support increased prominence on social media regarding NALSC.
Don’t forget that those simple actions raise your profile, as well. It’s not a heavy lift, and every member of NALSC is impacted by the level of NALSC’s visibility to our potential clients and candidates.
The members of the Online Presence Committee (comprised, in 2025, of Jordan Abshire, Kevin Bacon, Natalie Thorsen Harris, and Chair Stuart TenHoor) believe that what we do online in all forms, now and in the future, enhances our organization’s presence and visibility as we seek to consistently implement all our goals.
